databloom.

Site-specific live data, made tangible.
An embodied data ritual.

databloom is a live-data, site-specific installation exploring open banking and the future of trust. It makes personal data tangible, intimate, and strangely beautiful. Created for Open Futures, it debuted at Money20/20.

Where data becomes felt.

Data usually lives in spreadsheets and policies. We wanted it to live somewhere else: in the body, in the room, in the air between people.
Built for Publicis Sapient's Open Futures thought leadership platform, Databloom translated open banking into an immersive encounter, shifting data from minefield to material, from compliance to imagination. Not by explaining it. By making it felt.

Two rooms. One journey.
The immersive, site-specific experience.

Room one:
The bloom, an embodied ritual.

A custom device captures three signals unique to you, such as heartbeat, height, and the colour of your clothes. Those signals become a living bloom on screen, breathing with you, moving as you move. Then you exhale. Your data particles are released into a shared cloud, like dandelion seeds leaving the stem.

From Room One, visitors moved into a gallery space. Where the installation ended, the conversation began.

The gallery: a speculative future you can walk through.
From felt experience to case studies from the future.

In room two, a manifesto film anchored the space.

Around it, life-size photographs of people with unique needs, 'case studies from the future', showed what becomes possible when personal data is organised with care, creativity, and consent.
Not warnings. Possibilities.

Conceived in 2019, some of these futures have since arrived.

Outcome.

Databloom didn't just visualise data. It shifted the feeling around it: from minefield to material, from compliance to imagination.
Over three days at Money20/20, it became a conversation magnet: 300+ visitors, 157 leads, and a foundation for ongoing thought leadership and new business dialogue. For Publicis Sapient, it positioned the firm as visionaries in open banking, proving that when you make the complex beautiful, you make it possible.

The leads came because people felt something first.
Feeling as the strategy itself. That is the work.

Case studies film.

Manifesto film.

Interviews - How does databloom feel?

databloom branding.
A tender identity for intelligent systems.

Symbol for data that doesn’t dominate, but disperses.
The databloom mark holds the quiet power of data: organic, feminine, and full of potential.

We built an identity that refused the usual tech aesthetic. The visual language drew from dandelions: soft power, dispersal, latent potential, a living metaphor for how data moves when it’s shared with consent.
A deliberate counterpoint to hard-edged futurism, and a reminder that intelligent systems can be tender.
